What does MADE IN GREEN mean?

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN is a traceable product label for textile and leather articles of all kinds that are manufactured in environmentally friendly factories and in safe and socially responsible workplaces. The MADE IN GREEN label also gives you the assurance that the product is made from materials that have been tested for harmful substances.

A MADE IN GREEN certified product is

  • has been produced in an environmentally friendly way in safe, socially responsible workplaces,
  • made from materials that do not pose a health risk,
  • transparent about the factories and countries where it was made.

What are the MADE IN GREEN requirements?

Two certifications are required for MADE IN GREEN. The product must be

  • tested and certified as free from harmful substances (OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100)
  • and manufactured using environmentally friendly processes under socially acceptable working conditions and certified (OEKO-TEX® STeP).

MADE IN GREEN receives top rating from Greenpeace

The environmental organisation Greenpeace classifies OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN as trustworthy in its new guide to quality labels for clothing. MADE IN GREEN is a “strict standard for textile production and end products”. Only four of the 29 clothing labels analysed achieved this rating.
